In three hours or so of ratting/salvaging/mission running I make about a million or so ISK. Am I about where I should be or does anyone have any advice for this tiny little newb? What did you do when you first started?

You need skills! Skills that disable warp drives and jam targeters. Make it so they CAN'T flee and you will have way more fun.

All about skills baby. Nothing better than disabling warp drives and jamming targeters while you annhiliate ships twice your size for the loot. Yes some run but if you have the right skills so they can't get away piracy is quite fun.
